Female Wrestlers Can Be Tough Too
Wrestling fans are often enthusiastic about the toughness of male wrestlers. However, female wrestlers can be just as tough. Ken Hoffman recounts a time in 1990 when he attended a female wrestling match and was punched by a female wrestler. Her stage name was Angel the Biker Chick. Hoffman had attended the show featuring the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling, also known as the GLOW girls.
Prior to the performance, Hoffman was asked by Angel if he could act out a scene where he would be slapped. Hoffman willingly agreed, underestimating the strength of Angel's hit. But when the show actually occurred and the scene was played out, he was hit hard by the female wrestler unexpectedly. It proved to him that female wrestlers can be tough, even tougher than some men at times.
